Inhaltszusammenfassung
British television is a key arena in which images and narratives of British multiculturalism are constructed. The paper investigates examples of these, distinguishing between autobiographical and polyphonic television narratives. The textual analysis reveals complex configurations of voice and identity, ranging from innovative single and multiple voices challenging official British culture and history, through to the continuing presence of the white British collective "we".
