In recent years, a variety of surgical procedures have been proposed for coverage of gingival recession defects. At present, the connective tissue graft (CTG) procedure is considered to be the “gold standard” for root coverage. However, the CTG presents a number of disadvantages, including the need for a second surgical site, limited availability of donor material, and donor site morbidity. At present, the connective tissue graft (CTG) procedure is considered to be the “gold standard” for root coverage. However, the CTG presents a number of disadvantages, including the need for a second surgical site, limited availability of donor material, and donor site morbidity. More recently, the use of xenogeneic collagen matrices has been introduced as a soft-tissue graft substitute and possible alternative to CTG in periodontal plastic surgery. The clinical outcomes obtained with these collagen matrices seem promising, but the results are still inferior when compared to CTG procedures. The aim of the present project is to improve the function of xenogeneic collagen matrices by adding the cell-activating substances EMD and PRF. Thus, we analyzed the effects of EMD and PRF pre-treated collagen matrices on cell viability, migration ability and cell attachment on human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) in-vitro.» weiterlesen» einklappen
