N-acetylcysteine, Methylprednisolone and Ventricular Irrigation in Subarachnoid Aneurysmal Hemorrhage (NAC-MEP-VI)
Laufzeit: 01.01.2016 - 31.12.2019
Kurzfassung
Primary objectives: To determine the therapeutic efficacy of a combination of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and methylprednisolone (MEP) plus continuous ventricular irrigation (CVI) on the 6 months-outcome, assessed by the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) [1] in patients with subarachnoid aneurysmal hemorrhage.
Secondary objectives: To test if treatment with NAC, MEP and CVI results in a better neurological outcome as tested by the
Stroke Impact Scale (SIS),
Glasgow Coma outcome scale-extended...Primary objectives: To determine the therapeutic efficacy of a combination of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and methylprednisolone (MEP) plus continuous ventricular irrigation (CVI) on the 6 months-outcome, assessed by the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) [1] in patients with subarachnoid aneurysmal hemorrhage.

Modified rankin scale, and
Barthel index,
all tested at 3 and 6 months after the ictus
a lower incidence of delayed cerebral ischemia (=cerebral infarction, DCI)
a lower percentage of cerebral blood flow velocities <120 cm/s in the middle cerebral arteries as tested by transcranial Doppler ultrasound
a higher cerebral blood flow measured by MRI ASL perfusion technique
a higher blood clearance rate (BCR) of intracerebral and -ventricular blood» weiterlesen» einklappen
