Role of m6A RNA modification in AML initiation and progression
Laufzeit: 01.01.2018 - 31.12.2020
Kurzfassung
N6-methyladenosine RNA (m6A) has emerged as an abundant and dynamically regulated modification affecting almost every stage of mRNA metabolism, and its absence is associated with various physiological defects. Importantly, alteration of m6A level has been linked to poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We propose to investigate the impact of m6A mRNA modification during leukemia initiation and disease progression by taking stepwise inducible AML mouse model generated in our previous...N6-methyladenosine RNA (m6A) has emerged as an abundant and dynamically regulated modification affecting almost every stage of mRNA metabolism, and its absence is associated with various physiological defects. Importantly, alteration of m6A level has been linked to poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We propose to investigate the impact of m6A mRNA modification during leukemia initiation and disease progression by taking stepwise inducible AML mouse model generated in our previous work (Guezguez et al., Cancer Cell 2016) and search for potential clinical biomarkers that correlated with AML patients' prognosis for risk stratification.
