Dynamics of eosinophil trans-compartment navigation in response to intrapulmonary Th2-cytokine challenge’
Laufzeit: 01.01.2015 - 31.12.2016
Kurzfassung
T2 cytokines such as interleukin-4, interleukin-5 and interleukin-13 play an essential role in the pathogenesis of allergic and intrinsic asthma. The precise function of each cytokine alone or their synergistic interplay on eosinophil migration and activation as well as other inflammatory hallmarks of the asthmatic airway disease are not fully understood. Aim of this project is to analyze the impact of T2 cytokines upon local application to the mouse lung on the migration, proliferation and...T2 cytokines such as interleukin-4, interleukin-5 and interleukin-13 play an essential role in the pathogenesis of allergic and intrinsic asthma. The precise function of each cytokine alone or their synergistic interplay on eosinophil migration and activation as well as other inflammatory hallmarks of the asthmatic airway disease are not fully understood. Aim of this project is to analyze the impact of T2 cytokines upon local application to the mouse lung on the migration, proliferation and activation of eosinophils in the bone marrow, blood, lung and bronchoalveolar lavage. In addition, the influence of all cytokines on other hallmarks of an asthmatic airway inflammation such as airway hyper responsiveness and goblet cell metaplasia will be analyzed. By administration of blocking antibodies the precise effects of each cytokine will be evaluated in a synergistic setup.
