However, only a moderate percentage of patients achieved a durable remission. This might be explained by the development of immune escape mechanisms by the cancer cells. In this project, we aim to characterize in vivo established melanomas which show a difference in proliferation and immunogenicity. The final goal is to target immune escape mechanisms like up- or downregulation of cell surface molecules, different glycosylation patterns of cell surface molecules or secretion of inhibitory cytokines to increase efficacy of adoptive T cell transfer.
