Smoking has multiple effects on parameters, which are relevant for a successful antiviral therapy, including platelet counts, changes in lipid metabolism and compliance aspects. Furthermore, nicotine induces liver fibrosis. Aim of this project is to answer the question whether smoking has an influence on antiviral therapy in a large
multicenter study conducted by gastroenterologists in private practice in cooperation with Roche since 2011.
