Immunology Cluster of Excellence Mainz - Asthma Core Facility
Laufzeit: 01.01.2005 - 31.12.2008
Kurzfassung
This facility offers the possibility to perform asthma protocols, to measure, with non invasive and invasive methods airway functions in mice. The equipped biological laboratory allows cytological assessment and purification of cells from the lung. Aim of the asthma Core facility is also to validate in vitro results in vivo in murine models of asthma and to ameliorate methodologies used in this field to develop new ways to study the pathogenesis of allergic asthma.

New independent experiments were performed such as the generation of a new mouse that lacks T bet and is Tg for the expression of the dominant negative form of the TGF beta receptor II in CD4+ T cells. Improvements in the methodological field of asthma model and other allergic related diseases are under investigation, too.
