Eating disorders have a considerable influence on social contacts, as avoiding one’s own body may result in the avoidance of others. In cooperation with the psychological institute and the child psychiatry center Hamm we emerged the participants in a virtual reality environment in which they approached an avatar as close as they felt comfortable.
