This complexity is based on the fact that parallel to the real physical product there is a virtual instance in which algorithms are used to find optimizations, or through which real artifacts and processes are linked and coordinated. In this context one speaks of cyber-physical systems. Their virtual part is the digital twin to reality. The modeling of digital twins is a challenging task, since not only their static structure but also their dynamic behavior must be mapped. In addition, virtual twins often encompass a wide variety of application domains: For example, an end-to-end order process extends from the business process level to the production level and then back to the business process level. As an abstracting modeling language, Petri nets can make a significant contribution to connecting different application domains and abstraction levels. In order to make this experienceable, a case study was developed in which students, guided by the concept of problem-based or research-oriented learning, use a web-based Petri net tool to model and simulate processes and execute them in a production line. It is also shown how this method enables an extended acquisition of competence beyond the mere gaining of knowledge.» weiterlesen» einklappen
