The volitional level of anxiety - the meaning of action and state orientation in therapy of anxiety disorders

Objection: Is action orientation a precondition for successful treatment or a characteristic of anxiety? Method: During the course of treatment data on the HOLO Anxiety Scale. were collected from 330 patients. Individual growth curves were calculated using mixed-effects regression models. The impact of intercept and slope parameters on clinicaly significant symptom reduction on the SCL-90-R was analyzed. Results: Patients Who showed clinically significant improvements had higher slope parameters but no differences in intercept estimates were seen. Conclusions: Action orientation appears to be a characteristic of anxiety, but not a prerequisite for successful treatment. » weiterlesen» einklappen
