Subject of this research was the influence of fabric-ties on the performance of woven-in fiber optics. For this, several weaving experiments with a semi-automatic loom and other necessary experiments were performed. After weaving of glass fiber fabric, it was included into a composite part produced with the "VARTM"-process in order to assess the transmission of light in optical fibers. For this, several weaving experiments with a semi-automatic loom and other necessary experiments were performed. After weaving of glass fiber fabric, it was included into a composite part produced with the "VARTM"-process in order to assess the transmission of light in optical fibers. Finally, the composite part was cut into small pieces and polished for cross-sections, which were evaluated by microscopy. At the end a fabric modell was to be created to draw conclusions from the yarn thickness to the fabric tie needed to avoid energy loss. Later, fabrics with woven-in fiber optics should be equiped with optical sensors in order to controll parts during use. Thus, possiblities for the sensor fastening in fabrics were investigated.» weiterlesen» einklappen
