For such data to be of value, efficient and effective data storage is of utmost importance. In this paper, we present a comparison of on-premise database management systems in the context of the IoT. We perform a market analysis on relational, Not Only SQL (NoSQL), and time-series database systems as well as a requirement analysis in order to comprehensively compare database systems based on functional and non-functional criteria. After an initial selection, we compare MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, InfluxDB, and QuestDB. As a result, we provide a best practice guide to support the decision-making on which database to select for an IoT use case.» weiterlesen» einklappen
