Synthesis of N(CH2CH2CH2)(3)SnF . H2O (1a) and MeN(CH2CH2CH2)(2)SnFMe . H2O (5a) and molecular structures of 1a and N(CH2CH2CH2)(3)SnX (2, X = Cl; 3, X = Br; 4, X = I) are reported. Compound la is a tetramer held together by intermolecular Sn...F interactions (2.797(6) Angstrom) and F...H and O...H hydrogen bridges. It is the first example of an intermolecular hexacoordinated triorganotin halide.
