The tear film volume is an important factor for ocular surface health and its loss of homeostasis (aqueous deficiency) is at the same time a key pathogenic mechanism and a diagnostic sign in dry eye disease patients.

• To describe the distribution of tear fluid quantity (Schirmer test) in a representative subsample of the GHS (B6)


• To describe the distribution stratified by sex and age decade


• To assess the association of systemic, ocular and lifestyle factors with tear sample quantity
