Kurzfassung
The effectiveness of photodynamic therapy, as it is used in the clinic today, is dependent on a number of parameters. One of the most important of these is the delivery and uptake of a photodynamic agent into the tumor or precancerous tissue. This uptake must be as tumor-specific as possible if the normal tissue surrounding the tumor is to be spared and if problems concerning e.g., skin phototoxicity are to be avoided. In this project, new methods for enhanced delivery and correspondingly improved antitumor effects are being developed. This research is focused on the development of a range of nanoparticle delivery systems into which photodynamic sensitizers can be incorporated. The first of these preparations are undergoing investigations to determine their physicochemical properties. » weiterlesen» einklappen
