Evaluation of energy-delivery polyphosphate-collagen mats using an ex-vivo wound model (BiomaTiCS)
Laufzeit: 01.01.2019 - 31.12.2019
Kurzfassung
Wound healing is an energy consuming process, an aspect that has not been sufficiently addressed in the past. Impaired wound healing due to a lack of energy in particular concerns diabetic patients or multimorbid patients with impaired vascularization. In this project, we will develop and evaluate a novel type of collagen-based wound healing mats that provide the extracellular space with the energy needed for wound healing process (e.g. for extracellular matrix organisation,...Wound healing is an energy consuming process, an aspect that has not been sufficiently addressed in the past. Impaired wound healing due to a lack of energy in particular concerns diabetic patients or multimorbid patients with impaired vascularization. In this project, we will develop and evaluate a novel type of collagen-based wound healing mats that provide the extracellular space with the energy needed for wound healing process (e.g. for extracellular matrix organisation, ATP-gradient-driven cell migration etc.). Energy-delivering polyP particles will be generated in situ, during collagen gel formation/fibrillogenesis, before plastic compression of the collagen mats. The evaluation will be performed using an ex-vivo wound model.» weiterlesen» einklappen
