SFB 1080/2 IRTG Molecular and cellular mechanisms of neural homeostasis
Laufzeit: 01.01.2017 - 31.12.2020
Kurzfassung
This Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) will offer interdisciplinary training on molecular and cellular mechanisms of neural homeostasis in molecular biology, cell biology, histology, immunohistochemistry, genetics, electrophysiology, behavioral analyses, imaging techniques and clinical methods. It will be offered to 4 MD-PhD- and to a total of 57 PhD students, who are funded within the subprojects of the CRC and by the IRTG. It will be offered to 4 MD-PhD- and to a total of 57 PhD students, who are funded within the subprojects of the CRC and by the IRTG. This training is embedded in an already established, structured educational curriculum of the Mainz/Frankfurt MD-PhD/PhD-program "TransMed". The training is custom-designed for the needs of the graduate students within the program. It is the aim of this IRTG to put emphasis on the main topic of our CRC initiative, and to advance students’ knowledge of nervous system development, function, and pathology in view of homeostatic mechanisms. The curriculum will also consist of soft skills training, colloquia and an international symposium organized by the IRTG students themselves.
